Welcome to the Neighborhood Data Gateway interactive map - a map highlighting data that can be used to improve St. Louis neighborhoods provided as a service to the region by Rise Community Development.
Neighborhood Data Gateway is only one of the many ways Rise makes successful neighborhood revitalization possible, and only one of the ways we work to democratize data and make information more accessible to our commmunity development partners. For more information about our work, please visit www.risestl.org or our member page on the National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership site.
This interactive map was built using Leaflet, Bootleaf, and Mapbox.
Data was analyzed using R, and both a methodology explanation and the R scripts used will be made available soon on Github.
Rise welcomes suggestions about how to improve the Neighborhood Data Gateway website or the methodology used to calculate the indicators found here. Use the "Contact us" form to send us your ideas and comments.
If you are a local Community Development Corporation or place-based nonprofit, we'd love to hear how you are using Neighborhood Data Gateway in your work. Tell us your Data In Action story and we'll feature your activities on this site!
Rise is deeply thankful to our current partners who have provided both funding and support to the Neighborhood Data Gateway project.
Data Gateway grew out of work on a previous strengths-based market data project completed in 2012, the St. Louis Neighborhood Market DrillDown. For that reason, Rise would also like to thank our partners on that important effort. These visionary supporters recognized the value of accurate, accessible, and strength-based data for our region, which in turn opened the door for the development of the Neighborhood Data Gateway site.
The data provided on this site is for informational and planning purposes only.
